2016211日,国际文凭组织发布了由高等教育统计机构(HESA)针对IBDPA level学生进行的大学入学和学业成就的研究结果报告。

February 11, 2016, the International Baccalaureate (IB) released a summary of findings from research conducted by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) examining the university enrollment and achievement of matched cohorts of IB Diploma Programme (DP) and A level students.

 

部分重要发现包括:

l  IB学生就读排名前20高等教育机构的机会远高于A level学生

l  IB学生获得一等荣誉学位的机会远高于A level学生

l  IB学生大学毕业继续进行学业深造的机会也明显更高

Some of the key findings included:

l  IB diploma students were significantly more likely than their A level peers to attend a top 20 HEI

l  IB diploma students had a significantly greater likelihood of earning a first-class honours degree than did A level students.

l  IB diploma students were significantly more likely to be engaged in further study after university graduation

 

本项研究还跟踪了学生们大学毕业后在各个行业就业的情况。根据HESA的报告,IB学生就业于以下行业的可能性更高:专业/科学/技术工作(18.3%),健康和社会活动(14.6%)。

The study also looked at post-graduation destinations among students working after higher education, by industry type. IB diploma graduates were more likely to be employed in professional, scientific and technical activities (18.3%) or human health and social work activities (14.6%) according to the HESA report.

研究者们对三组不同的学生群体进行了分类分析。

“学生”组:样本包括IB学生和A level学生(样本量各为11,055),就读于英国的高等教育机构的全日制第一学位项目的一年级;

“预选”组:样本包括IB学生和A level学生(样本量各为6,455),已经在英国的高等教育机构完成全日制第一学位项目的学习;

“离校”组:样本包括IB学生和A level学生(样本量各为5,295),已经在英国的高等教育机构完成全日制第一学位项目的学习并在6个月后完成了HESA“高等教育完成后去向”的调查。

Researchers conducted analyses based on three different groups of students.

The “student” cohorts; samples included IB diploma students and A level students (N=11,055 each) enrolled full-time, for a first degree, in the first year of study at an HEI in the UK.

The “qualifier” cohorts; samples included IB diploma and A level students (N=6,455 each) who had successfully completed a full-time first degree at a UK HEI.

The “leaver” cohorts; samples included IB diploma and A level students (N=5,295 each) who had successfully completed a full-time first degree at a UK HEI and had completed the HESA “Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education” (DLHE) survey six months later.

Mr. Steve, Master Degree of Education, a specialist of IB full continuum, an expert of AP curriculum and British Columbia Curriculum. He is also experienced in college counseling. He was the principal of Middle & High School in Daystar Academy, the inaugural principal of Lanzhou Oriental Canada Secondary School, MYP & DP program’s principal in Meadowridge School (13 years). The Meadowridge School is a renowned IB full continuum private school, ranks in the top 10 in Canada.

Peking University Experimental School (Jiaxing) is an international new model of school serving students from kindergarten through grade 12. The school is jointly founded by Beida Jade Bird Culture and Education Group and Jiaxing Economic Development Zone.
