I am thrilled that you have decided to view our school’s website in order to learn more about the wonderful students, staff, and programs we have to offer. Please note that our website is going through a redevelopment phase and therefore some of the items on the website may not be up to date.

We are about to embark upon a new school year with great enthusiasm and anticipation of new opportunities that will enhance our instructional program and school community as a whole. PKUES- JX has only been operating since 2016 and this is the third year. Often, some of the biggest challenges of the school are getting it approved by the government, building the facility and recruiting families/students and teachers. I would like to extend my congratulations and sincere gratitude to all of those hard working and diligent people who were an important part of getting the school started.

 

我们满怀希望地开始新学年,并期待有新的机会,促进我们的教学水平和整个学校社区都更上一层楼。自2016年建校,我们的学校已经迈入了第三年。学校的教职员工在

合规与获批、教学设施建设、招生与招聘等诸多方面付出了巨大的努力,为学校的开创奠定基础,我在此向他们的辛勤劳动表示衷心的感谢。

 

We now move into the next stage of growth.  This means that we have to evaluate all of our programs and policies to ensure we are doing our best to maximize student personal development and academic achievement.  This will take time to get all information available, and to review how we can use generally accepted best practices of education at PKUES – JX.

We are an IB World School; currently we offer the Diploma Programme at grades 11-12.  I am happy to announce we are now at the beginning stages of intending to authorize for the PYP & MYP Programmes.  When fully authorized, PKUES- Jiaxing will become a full continuum IB World School.

Our commitment at Peking University Experimental School - Jiaxing is to provide a safe and intellectually challenging environment that will empower students to become proficient in English and Mandarin, innovative thinkers, creative problem solvers and inspired learners prepared to thrive in the twenty-first century. While the core curriculum is provided for all students, we believe that it is critical to provide leadership opportunities, character education and exposure to the technologies in order to prepare students to compete with their global counterparts.

High standards and expectations for each student in regard to academic performance, after school activity participation, and responsible citizenship are important at our school. Full participation in academic and co-curricular programs and a willingness to act responsibly as an individual within our educational environment are the factors that enable all to have a successful and enjoyable year.

Below are our beliefs regarding teaching and learning that we developed as part of this process.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to      share and discuss exemplary practices, interpret student performance      data, and design assessments that promote twenty-first century skills.

We believe that successful students:

  • Are motivated by an innate curiosity and      excitement for learning. They seek the opportunity to connect with, learn      from, and make a difference in the lives of others.

  • Make positive choices related to physical      and mental wellness; and

  • Contribute to the local and global      community in a collaborative and respectful manner

We believe that positive parents

  • Are an important part of the school      community and have lots to offer to make the school a positive and fun      learning place.

  • Communicate with teachers in a positive      and respectful manner.

  • Communicate best with teachers face to      face

  • Support PKUES- JX programs and help to      make the school a better learning environment

  • Appreciate teachers who finally “get” and      value a variety of personalities and learning styles. They are excited      about the small class sizes and are encouraged by a more intimate      educational experience.
